YBET computer site is mainly dedicated for technician e-Learning: This part see Windows operating system, not as users course but technician training: installation, repair, administration, ... As for the hardware part, it is based on theoretical and practical experience of ybet's technicians in Belgium. As webmaster and trainer, I also add my own experience and my opinions for the small problems of configuration and administration.
Training start with DOS, still used in the recovery console and controls networks. The major part is based primarily on TCP/IP network troubleshooting commands, used later in the training. Next allow to generalize the characteristics of the different Windows: characteristics, installation, registry and different types of sharing in Windows with their advantages and their faults.
We begin with XP Windows (for Personal PC) and 2003 for servers computers (French version start with 2000 server version, no automatic configurations) but it's obsolete. XP for personal computer administration and 2003 for servers: even for networks characteristics: DHCP servers, DNS, proxy, ... but also Directory Service.
The sequel picks up in depth systems typically current stations: Windows XP, Vista, Seven and Windows 8. For each version, we will see the installation, administration and configuration and troubleshooting but also the connections and network shares. These operating systems will also be used (in version Pro - Business) as clients for servers.
The last part will allow us to begin administering servers under Small Business. The standard version will be just discussed as we will mainly focus on version "small business" in server systems. This will be the most complex part since it will resume the installation and basic administration but especially all networks in domain name configurations: Setup users, privileges and access rights,... coupled to connect workstations and users by using a roaming profile or a fixed configuration. Specific configurations will also be discussed such as DNS, DHCP, Wins, servers... It is a purpose of this course, start the installation and administration of a local server within a small business 2003 was also modified the method of Internet connection from a local network. Based on a SBS premium version, a part of this course will use Exchange as a messaging service and its setting, but also using Outlook 2003 as a client on the stations.
This course is just enough to give a good basis. It will probably not allow a network administrator for Microsoft certification, just to allow a day-to-day management of a user under Windows environment. This give complete databases to evolve in further evolution of Microsoft operating system. Layouts, methods are similar to those of course hardware.
